Tips & tricks on how to use your Soap Nuts

Sinfully Wholesome's Wildcrafted Nepalese Soap Nuts are the most versatile natural, organic soap on Earth.

For centuries the Nepalese have been using Soap Nuts for:

1) Doing their laundry

2) Household cleaning

3) Washing their hair & to bathe with

Today people worldwide are rediscovering the all natural, healthy cleaning power of Soap Nuts.

1 - SOAP NUTS THE ALL NATURAL ORGANIC SOAP FOR LAUNDRY

Soap Nuts are very easy to do your laundry with.

And they are very economical to use.

You can do a load of laundry for about 10 - 13 cents, or about 1/3 of the cost of using a brand name commercial detergent.

Soap Nuts can be used in top loaders, front loaders and High Efficiency (HE) washing machines.

You can use either the Soap Nut "shells" (which are really the skin of the Soap Berry fruit) or you can use a liquid made from Soap Nuts.

TIP! We recommend that you use the Soap Nuts shells because they are so easy to use and you can reuse them over and over again.

To do a load of laundry with Soap Nuts, simply put 6 soap nuts in the supplied washer bag and then toss it into your washing machine and leave it in for all cycles including rinse and spin dry.

Do NOT use fabric softeners or dyer sheets. Soap Nuts are natural fabric softeners and have anti-static properties.

So you'll save even more money on dryer sheets and fabric softeners!

TRICK! If your clothing is heavily soiled add about a 1/4 - 1/2 cup of baking soda to the wash.

When the wash is done, separate the Soap Nuts bag from the wash and put your clothes in the dryer, or hang them on the line, and hang up the bag of Soap Nuts up to dry for the next use.

You can reuse the same 6 Soap Nuts to do up to 6 loads of laundry!

TIP! You can easily tell when your Soap Nuts have been used up by gently squeezing the still wet Soap Nuts bag after doing a load of laundry: if you see and feel some suds, you can do another load with them.

TRICK! If you have hard water, soak the bag containing the Soap Nuts in a cup of hot water from your tap while your washing machine fills, then put the hot water and Soap Nuts into your machine.

TIP! Once you've done about 6 loads of laundry with your Soap Nuts, take the Soap Nuts out of the washer bag and boil them to make a household cleaner.

2- SOAP NUTS FRUIT and VEGGIE WASH and ALL PURPOSE HOUSEHOLD CLEANER

Making an all purpose, toxin free fruit and veggie wash and liquid household cleaner from Soap Nuts is as easy as boiling water!

You can make a liquid cleaner from either the leftover Soap Nuts from doing your laundry, or for a more powerful and concentrated liquid cleaner, we recommend that you use fresh unused Soap Nuts.

TIP! If you are using leftover Soap Nuts from doing your laundry, we suggest that you save up your leftover Soap Nuts until you have a dozen or more. And then make your cleaner.

How to make your all purpose liquid Soap Nut cleaner.

Put 12 Soap Nuts in the supplied washer bag and tie it closed. Then put the bag containing the Soap Nuts into medium sauce pan with about 8 cups of water. Bring the water to a brisk boil, reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for around 30 minutes until it makes a semi-thick, cloudy yellowish-brown liquid. Turn off the heat and let the mixture steep for several hours.

When the mixture is cool, remove the bag containing the Soap Nuts and hang the bag up to dry for future use (you can reuse the same bag of Soap Nuts several times to make more liquid cleaner).

TIP! You can easily tell when your Soap Nuts have been used up by gently squeezing the still wet Soap Nuts bag after making the cleaner: if you see and feel some suds, you can use them again to make more liquid Soap Nuts cleaner.

Pour the liquid Soap Nuts cleaner from the sauce pan into a glass or plastic bottle and store in the fridge until ready to use. If stored in the fridge your cleaner should last several weeks to a month.

You can use your Soap Nuts cleaner to wash your appliances, windows (no streaks!) floors, doors, dishes (works great in dishwashers too) dogs, kids, your hair and your body.

TRICK! If you think that you will not be using your Soap Nuts cleaner right away, you can pour the liquid into an ice cube tray and freeze it for future use.

TIP! Once your Soap Nuts are used up and you can't do any more loads of laundry, or make any more liquid cleaner with them, you can put them in the compost bin and return their nutrients to the soil.

You can also compost the Wildcrafted Handmade Nepalese Lokta Paper bag that your Soap Nuts came in.

3- SOAP NUTS ORGANIC SHAMPOO & BODY WASH

Not only can you do your laundry, and clean virtually everything in your home with Soap Nuts and Soap Nuts liquid, you can also use the Soap Nut liquid as a gentle, natural, organic shampoo and body wash!

If you've priced all natural, organic shampoos and body washes lately, you'll know that the average bottle of organic shampoo or body wash sells for $25.00 or more. But you can make a bottle of organic Soap Nuts shampoo or body wash for about a buck or two!

And a basic Soap Nuts shampoo or body wash is as easy to make as the Soap Nuts liquid cleaner you use to clean everything in your home.

TIP! Use the same recipe you would use to make your cleaner: Put 12 Soap Nuts in the supplied washer bag and tie it closed.

When the mixture is cool, remove the bag containing the Soap Nuts and hang the bag up to dry for future use (you can reuse the same bag of Soap Nuts several times to make more shampoo and body washes with).

SAFETY TIP! Be sure to pour your Soap Nuts shampoo/body wash into a plastic bottle. You will be taking it into the shower and you should never bring a glass container into the shower!

This basic recipe makes a great shampoo and body wash. But you should be aware that it will not foam like the commercially available shampoos and body washes that contain Sodium Laureth Sulfate, or Sodium Lauryl Ether Sulfates (SLES) that are know toxins and carcinogens, and are used in most commercial products as foaming agents.

But don't be fooled by the low level of suds and/or foam. Very little Soap Nuts shampoo/body wash is required to leave your hair soft, silky and clean.

And no conditioners are required!

Soap Nuts liquid when used as a body wash is great for people with sensitive skin. Especially for those suffering from eczema and psoriasis.

TRICK! Try adding a few drops of Argan Oil or your shampoo & Body wash.
